Introducing PUMA’s Debut Collaboration With SWASH London

Spring/Summer 2015 will see PUMA collaborate with the East London based print and fashion house SWASH London. This collection will see the SWASH team inject their uncommon skills as both artists and designers into iconic PUMA styles.

SWASH is the combined skills of print specialist duo, Sarah Swash and Toshio Yamanaka. Celebrated for the realisation of their signature hand-drawn and painted artworks, SWASH uniquely instill their digital prints with the charm of human touch. Since winning the Hyeres prize in 2004 the brand emerged at the forefront of print design, filling their creations with the odd and the fanciful, creating new worlds where colours and characters meet.

PUMA x SWASH footwear collection demonstrates the playful and artistic theme of this collaboration, taking classic designs and filling them with a newfound life. The Blaze of Glory, an icon, known for its athletic construction, is given the trademark SWASH treatment. Their Blaze of Glory is made bolder and brighter with fascinating and beautifully coloured prints. As well as this, the XT2+ Trinomic undergoes a similar reinvention taking on bold and intricate patterns true to SWASH London’s design ethos.

The apparel range is a true combination of SWASH and PUMA designs. It takes inspiration from the SWASH archives alongside vintage sports and military wear, transferring their extraordinary prints to classic and reinvented PUMA items and taking on PUMA’s current technologies for a modern and sleek aesthetic. Key Styles include SWASH AOP Windbreaker (R1 699), SWASH MA1 Bomber Jacket (R2 999), SWASH Tech Short (R1 299), SWASH Tech Hoody (ladies: R1 299 and mens: R1 699) and AOP tee (R1 099).

The blending of premium prints and handcrafted designs with classic PUMA styles and cutting edge tech perfectly represents both brands unique DNA, creating a refreshing and individual collection.

PUMA x SWASH can be found at PUMA SELECT stores in Cape Town, Bree Street and Johannesburg, Braamfontein, as well as X–Trend and Shelflife from 6 August 2015.
