G-Star RAW x Afrojack Limited Edition Sunglasses Dropping Soon

Following the overwhelming success of last year’s collaboration, G-Star RAW has once again teamed up with Dutch DJ and producer, Afrojack. The result of their second eyewear partnership is the limited edition Fat Para Tacoma II. G-Star’s iconic Fat Tacoma has again served as the design’s starting point, and this time the best-selling style has been reimagined with transparent frames and dark green mirrored lenses. This year 1,155 pairs of the limited-edition style will be made available, and each pair will be engraved with a unique product number, along with Afrojack’s autograph.

The style resulting from the collaboration features hallmarks shared by all G-Star designs – such as the aviator-inspired straight-cut lenses and the industrial screw-shaped hinges – as well as special additions made by Afrojack himself. Afrojack gave the style his own take, by adding the side shields and the crystal color. The second eyewear collaboration between G-Star and Afrojack also forms the basis of another partnership with the DJ – a fourth collection – that will be announced later this year.

The limited edition G-Star x Afrojack sunglasses style #654S-909-E000 will be available at selected G-Star stores and online on g-star.com from next week Monday, 15 August 2016.

PUMA x Dee & Ricky Collaborates For A Second Season On A Dope Collection

PUMA collaborated with Staten Island’s design duo, Dee & Ricky Jackson for the second time. The collection combines the whimsical world of Dee and Ricky, with PUMA’s deep sporting heritage.

Born and raised in New York City, the brothers spent their early years exploring each of the five boroughs from the subway or their skateboards.  They marveled at the concrete paradise of street art and people.  For their second collection with PUMA, Dee & Ricky have recreated that instant euphoria of discovering.  The pieces are inspired by a mix of the iconic visual language of Massimo Vignelli’s ubiquitous subway map and the influence of graffiti artists.

The PUMA Basket has been refreshed with a playful and innovative upper finished in twisted grind print textile.  The PUMA Basket Dee & Ricky NYC (R2 899) features embroidery prints over the upper and is available in vibrant orange suede.  The playful pallet that features throughout the collection highlights Dee & Ricky’s notorious sense of fun and makes the perfect sneaker addition for upbeat street style.

The Basket Mid x Dee & Ricky BigA (R1 899) is a different take on the classic mid sneaker and features removable Velcro patches for a touch of fun.  More premium than before, the re-worked style features a debossed print on suede upper.

A range of apparel featuring jackets, t-shirts, sweat pants and a cap supports the footwear collaboration. The PUMA x Dee & Ricky cap (R399) features the New York subway all over graphic, complete with moisture wicking sweatband and fuse mesh lining.  When styled together the collection creates a fun, carefree, urban inspired street style look.

Sneakers Dropping This Weekend: Air Jordan 7 "Olympic Alternate"

The Air Jordan 7 “Tinker Alternate” is an alternate version of the Air Jordan 7 “Olympic” that was designed by Tinker Hatfield to coincide with the 2016 Olympics.

Designed by the legend himself - Tinker Hatfield, the Air Jordan 7 found the designer removing the Nike Air branding visible on the previous six Jordan models and adding a neoprene Huarache bootie for support.

Dressed in red, white and blue throughout, the Air Jordan 7 also includes metallic gold coin accents and an American flag hitting the heels. In addition, Tinker Hatfield added a notable geometric pattern inspired by a poster for the long-running Afropop Worldwide radio program. 

The Air Jordan 7 "Olympic Alternate" will drop on Saturday, 6 August 2016, at selected retailers.

Introducing The Creeper Camo From FENTY PUMA by Rihanna

PUMA Creative Director and Brand Ambassador Rihanna once again lends her eclectic style and creative flair with the exciting update on The Creeper with The Creeper Camo.

The new release comes with a rich suede leather upper, waxed laces and metallic gold branding. A striking orange camouflage print fabrication that contrasts with the gum Creeper sole gives this silhouette a stand-out status.

A remix of the iconic PUMA Suede, The Creeper was the first shoe curated by Rihanna for PUMA. The trend setting platform sneaker has continuously sold-out worldwide since the style first debut last year.  

The sneaker will not be available in local stores here in South Africa.

G-Star RAW and Eva Shaw Collaborates On Limited Edition Sunglasses

International DJ/producer, Eva Shaw has joined forces with G-Star RAW for a special limited edition pair of sunglasses: The Big Booler Wilton.

Always on the lookout for strong leaders, Shaw immediately stood out to G-Star as a pioneer in the male-dominated Dance Music industry. Eva has a natural affinity with fashion as former model, making her decision to collaborate with the denim brand a natural one.

Only 700 of the standout circular sunglasses were produced for the collaboration, and each pair has been engraved with a unique number. Based on their iconic Fat Wilton style, this special edition iteration has been reworked with a slightly larger front and green-colored mirrored lenses.

The Fat Wilton blend features distinct to all G-Star Eyewear – from the straight-cut lenses (inspired by original aviator goggles that were made from everyday glass), to the industrial-screw shaped hinges – with several new additions from Eva. She chose to complement the green lenses with semi-transparent frames in smoke green. Eva also put her own spin on the style with solid white temple tips and solid white inner rims. The result is a pair of round reflective shades with a modern meets retro edge.

In addition, the Big Booler Wilton comes complete with a white leather cord attached to its frame. When stowed away in its sleek white case, this special edition style – complete with its multitasking cord – even doubles as a clutch.
