#MBFWCT2015 - Twitter Chat with Ruald Rheeder



African Fashion International (AFI) invites you to join in a Twitter Chat led by Ruald Rheeder, who will be showing at this year’s Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Cape Town (MBFWCT). Ruald Rheeder is the South African fashion designer best known for his eponymous label RUALD RHEEDER. He was voted “Best New Designer” in 2012, and today his label has brand presence in 20 stores countrywide and his collections are seen bi-annually on fashion ramps across the African continent.

The Twitter Chat will take place on Thursday, 23 July between 12h30 and 13h30 and will be hosted on the @AFI_sa Twitter handle. Join Ruald as he leads this online conversation by enlightening participants on what they can expect from his Spring/Summer collection at this year’s show, what inspired his creations, and a sneak peek behind-the-scenes at one of the most anticipated fashion events of the world.

Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Joburg Prepares To Dazzle Audiences in 2015

South Africa’s foremost established and emerging designers will converge on Melrose Arch, Johannesburg from March 5-7 to kick off South Africa’s fashion calendar with their latest Autumn/Winter 2015 collections at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Joburg (MBFW). MBFWJ will set the standard for a season of sartorial success and continue to draw local and international buyers and media.

The primary focus of MBFWJ for 2015 is to foster the creative independence of talented new artists emerging from South Africa and to provide retail opportunities for the designers. Sizwe Nzimande (Africa Fashion International spokesperson) explains ‘we want to provide the international fashion community with a glimpse into the unique and innovative nature of African design and creativity’.

African Fashion International, which serves as the gateway to refined African fashion, has unveiled an extraordinary line-up of design talent, including collections from Ruald Rheeder, Stefania Morland, Suzaan Heyns, Fabiani, Khosi Nkosi, Tart, Augustine, KL Tsotetsi, Samantha Constable, SCALO and Shana, to name just a few.

The event will take place in the premier commercial and retail space, Melrose Arch, located in the heart of Johannesburg’s urban core and renowned as the definitive standard for luxury fashion and cultural showcases in the city.
