Introducing the PUMA Spring/Summer ‘15 Ferrari Lifestyle & Fanwear Collection

PUMA has introduced the new S/S ’15 Ferrari Lifestyle & Fanwear collection to celebrate 10 years of PUMA’s partnership with Scuderia Ferrari.

This successful collaboration began in 2005 and through the last 10 years PUMA has innovated with Ferrari to bring high performance race wear to the Scuderia Ferrari team, whilst creating Lifestyle, Fanwear and Replica styles for the fans around the world. The new lifestyle & fanwear collection of footwear, apparel and accessories take inspiration from the Scuderia Ferrari team. Each product features the special 10 Year Anniversary logo and the legendary Scuderia Ferrari F1 race team crest. Highlights from the new collection include:

Ferrari LS Primo Lo 10

The Ferrari Lifestyle Primo Lo 10 is a premium leather shoe, inspired by the racetrack and designed with functionality and style in mind. It features a special 10th Anniversary woven label on the tongue to acknowledge a decade of speed between PUMA and Scuderia Ferrari. Additional design details include a Scuderia Ferrari metal badge on the heel, an Italian flag woven label and lace tips.

Ferrari LS Wedge

PUMA’s Ferrari Lifestyle Wedge is designed for female Scuderia Ferrari enthusiasts. It has a classic sneaker design with an inside wedge heel for extra height. It’s made from premium leather and features exclusive Scuderia Ferrari details including a commemorative anniversary tongue woven label, Italian flag woven label and lace tips and a Scuderia Ferrari metal logo badge.

Ferrari LS Backpack

This Ferrari lifestyle backpack takes inspiration from the Scuderia Ferrari F1 team, blending modern details such as the technical carbon fibre panels with a track inspired grid pattern lining. The Backpack features a woven Italian flag side tab, brushed silver Scuderia Ferrari racing shield logo, PUMA Cat logo and an inner 10th anniversary label. Functional details include an internal padded laptop compartment, webbing carry handle, padded comfort back panel and padded and adjustable shoulder straps.

Ferrari LS Polo

The Ferrari Lifestyle Polo is a sophisticated wardrobe essential, sporting Scuderia Ferrari design details that set it apart from its everyday counterpart. Part of the 10th Anniversary celebration of the PUMA and Scuderia Ferrari partnership, this polo is made with 100% pique cotton with a button placket.  Additional details include a Scuderia Ferrari shield silicon badge and an Italian flag woven label.

Heritage Tee

This tee is for the devoted Scuderai Ferrari fans. It celebrates the iconic team and sport with a heritage Grand Prix graphic overlayed on the classic Ferrari Rosso Corsa red cotton tee shirt. The Heritage Tee features the 10th Anniversary commemorative woven label and the Scuderia Ferrari team crest.

The new PUMA SS15 Ferrari Lifestyle and Fanwear collection will be available in PUMA stores Worldwide and online at from January 2015.

adidas Originals x Star Wars = cool kids range!

adidas Originals and Star Wars have collaborated on a kids footwear and apparel range for 2015.

The original sportswear brand for the street meets the world's greatest film franchise as adidas Originals announced a new series of Star Wars kids apparel, footwear and accessories collections in collaboration with The Walt Disney Company.

The Spring-Summer range, which is now available in South Africa, forms part of a total of six kids collections throughout 2015, launching with a 'Glow in the Dark' theme inspired by Star Wars' best-known characters Yoda and Darth Vader.

Truly the meeting of two classics, the range will feature both adidas Originals favourites and characters from Star Wars applied to some of adidas Originals' most successful footwear and apparel models, including the Stan Smith, Superstar and ZX Flux shoes, as well as the classic Firebird, French Terry and Fleece tracksuits.

Products inspired by Yoda's colouring and his famous green light saber include the Top Ten Hi sneaker with a glow-in-the-dark outsole and a debossed Yoda face on the heel. Highlights in the apparel collection include the classic Firebird (for youth) and French Terry (for kids) tracksuits, both with reflective elements on the sleeves.

For those who like to walk on the darker side, fans can opt for the Darth Vader classic Firebird tracksuit (youth), while kids are catered for with the fleece tracksuit – both featuring glow-in-the-dark elements. Footwear includes a very special version of the ZX 700, inspired by Darth Vader's suit, helmet and red light saber, which features a moulded Darth Vader helmet heel clip.

The range will be available at the adidas Originals Kids store in Canal Walk, as well as the adidas Originals stores in Canal Walk and V&A Waterfront in Cape Town, and at Menlyn Park Shopping Centre in Pretoria. The range will also be available at the following stockists: Studio 88 and side step; Cross Trainer; Rashid Cassim; Stuttafords. The recommended retail price for the footwear starts at R799.00 and apparel from R329.00.

Additional new styles from the ongoing collaboration will arrive in stores throughout 2015 with even more exciting design executions that will have both kids and adults jump of joy.

South Africa Menswear Week - Dates and Schedule

Cape Town will host ‘South Africa Menswear Week’ (SAMW) over three days, Thursday, 5 to Saturday, 7 February 2015. This initiative is the first men’s focussed fashion platform in Africa, showcasing three days of menswear on the runway. This event features the collections of over 25 leading and most sought after menswear designers in Africa. See the show schedule below.

The SAMW was initiated to celebrate the creative and commercial importance of South Africa and Africa’s menswear industry. Tickets for all the shows will go on sale on Wednesday, 21 January 2015 on Webtickets.

Introducing the Nike Air Max 1 Ultra Moire - Ultra Light and Ultra Comfortable

Nike is introducing yet another version of its classic Air Max 1 silhouette. The Air Max 1 Ultra Moire has a laser perforated, synthetic suede upper which delivers ultra-lightweight comfort.

Highlights from London Collections Men

Menswear Fashion Month kicked off in London on Friday, January 2015. London Collections Men had over 150 designers show, 32 runway shows and 37 presentations over 4 days.

Over the 4 days we saw some of the world’s most innovative emerging designers, international menswear brands and traditional heritage tailoring. New brands also entered the menswear market, Coach showed their first menswear collection during London Collections Men. Pringle of Scotland and Dunhill presented their collections on the runway for the first time.

Our favorite collections from London Collection AW15 were Tom Ford (beautiful graphic optical-print monochrome blazers and leather shearling-backed coats), Moschino (fun ski chic collection), Burberry (‘classical bohemian’ – beautiful fringed blankets and scarves), Alexander McQueen (military inspired collection in army green and air force blue), Tiger of Sweden and Topman Design.

adidas Originals Brings Superstardom To The Street

To re-launch one of its most iconic shoes, adidas Originals kicks off the New Year with a global campaign questioning what it means to be a superstar in 2015. When the Superstar shoe was first launched by adidas back in 1969, the word 'Superstar' was unambiguous. Today, the word has been corrupted to the point of confusion and this year adidas Originals sets out to question what it truly means to be a superstar, flipping the theory of what society believes to be 'superstardom' on its head.

"Social media has completely redefined the concepts of self-expression, originality and creativity and throughout 2015, the campaign will question the need for external validation and celebrity worship. The campaign is aimed at inspiring creative courage without the need for external validation, and makes it very clear that whether it's 1969 or 2015, there is no short cut to being a Superstar," says Fabrizia Degli Esposti, adidas Originals Brand Marketing and PR Specialist.

The global campaign launches with a 90 second film, directed by Karim Huu Do and featuring David Beckham, Pharrell Williams, Rita Ora and Damian Lillard, each revealing that being superstar is not what you think it is. For Pharrell, the meaning is clear: "It's not about the number of views, likes or shares". While Rita Ora says, "It's not about walking down red carpets, talking to reporters and waving at fans." Whilst these 'Superstars' have all had different creative journeys, their original motivations from when they started out remain intact. They weren't chasing fame; fame was a by-product of their dedication and hard work.

The short film forms part of a year of tributes to the shoe that started a movement. In addition, adidas Originals has introduced the iconic Superstar model in its original form for the Vintage Deluxe Pack. "The Superstar Vintage Deluxe is a fitting homage to what is arguably the most iconic sneaker design of all time. From its origins as humble sporting equipment all the way through to its current stature as a global streetwear staple, the Superstar is regarded as the shoe that started a movement and has a rich history that belies its simplicity," adds Degli Esposti.

The adidas Originals Superstar has gone on to achieve truly legendary status when it transitioned from the courts to the streets in the late 1960's. It has been a mainstay of street culture ever since, representing creativity and diversity across the world. adidas Originals fans can expect to see a number of Superstar products and artist collaborations throughout the year, marking the next chapter of the Superstar legacy.
