First Look: Co-Creative PUMA x Jannik Wikkelsø Davidsen

Widely considered one of the visionaries of European streetwear, Jannik Wikkelsø Davidsen is known for his unique design sensibilities that break the norms of conventional streetstyle. Drawing inspiration from his personal experience of growing up in the suburbs of Denmark, his Co.Creative collection with PUMA is deeply rooted in the theme ‘From the Outskirts’ - reflecting a down to earth, analogue expression of style through unique street-ready silhouettes. Together with PUMA, he launches Alteration – a brand new silhouette that borrows inspiration from the minimalist aesthetic of suburban Copenhagen and fuses it with post-apocalyptic references. The bulky and futuristic design mixes neutrals with neon, combines material overlays, and pushes the boundaries of contemporary fashion.

Debuting the collection with Alteration PN-1 sneaker pack, Davidsen brings together an unexpected unity of two very different perspectives – while the upper gets a simplistic expression and structure referencing Copenhagen’s outskirts, the sole is a futuristic vision of wavy disproportions and bulky shapes. The sneakers of the season drops in bold Celery-Limelight on 4 April at PUMA Select, Archive & X-Trend stores while the High Rise – Gray Violet colourway drops on 15 April at PUMA Select, X-Trend and Superbalist - both retailing for R2199.

First Look: The PUMA CELL Venom OVERKILL

The CELL Venom OVERKILL concept revolves around the Y2K crash AKA the Millennium bug, a predicted problem in the coding of computerised systems that was feared to wreak havoc at the beginning of the year 2000.

Imagine this: a computer failure on New Year's Eve in 1999 lead to the launch of all nuclear missiles on the planet, and mankind woke up the next in the year 19100, with only a few survivors. Though the simulation of nature had developed, technology did not - with “Radiant Power” as the core concept, the story plays out in what used to be Berlin, a few years after the nuclear big bang. Through this collaboration, OVERKILL shines brighter than a nuclear fusion.

Celebrating 20 years of sneaker’s history and heritage, the all-new CELL Venom OVERKILL is designed to illuminate the whole town. Recreating its OG vibes from 1998, the sneakers drop in Illusion Blue and PUMA White colourway, featuring a gradation of blue, toxic neon yellow and white, with reflective inserts that further emphasize the radiation. With retro materials like suede, leather and classic mesh on the upper, the OVERKILL print on the lateral side and CELL logo on the heel and eyestay completes the look.

The sneaker will be available at the OVERKILL store and online starting March 29, and drops locally at PUMA SELECT and Shelflife stores on April 6, retailing for R2599.
