First Look: PUMA x ATMOS Disc Blaze ‘Night Jungle’

PUMA teamed up again with atmos, one of the top sneaker retailers in Japan, to add a new flavour to iconic DISC Blaze.

Inspired by the jungle at night-time, woodland camouflage patterns are carefully printed over the fine suede on the toes and uppers. The PUMA Formstrip, DISC Logo and the Trinomic outsole all take on an emerald green colour that mimics the hue of the lake under the moonlight.

The PUMA X atmos DISC Blaze Night Jungle will be available from Friday, 4 November at PUMA Select Bree Street, Cape Town and Braamfontein, Johannesburg for R2 599.

PUMA Collaborates With GraphersRock Japan And Brings Us A Cool Disc Blaze

PUMA has partnered with GraphersRock, Tokyo based graphic designer Tamio Iwaya’s design house famous for its unique taste of cyber punk and techno culture, to launch a collection that exhibits the creative synergy of both brands.

GraphersRock selected the words techno, cyber punk, experimental laboratory and high tech to inspire the sneaker design. Choosing two of PUMA’s most iconic 90’s runner silhouettes, the Disc Blaze and the R698, they worked with PUMA to translate a funky visual story with a play on material. By placing pictures and typography to represent their design ethos, they’ve created a unique design favoured by gadget geeks or ‘otakus’ in Japan.

The PUMA Disc by GraphersRock comes in two colourways, black and white. Decked in shiny leather with an engraved gild forefoot, it features eye-catching printed pictograms and typographies on the side panels and midsole. “Tokyo Japan” is prominently printed on the side while the GraphersRock logo is featured on the tongue and heel. Graphic patterns also adorn the inner as seen through the TRINOMIC sole.

The PUMA X GraphersRock Disc, retails for R2699 and it is available at PUMA SELECT stores in Bree Street, Cape Town and Braamfontein, Johannesburg as well as Cop Capital.

Introducing The Velvet Twin Pack by PUMA x Crossover Store

PUMA collaborated with the Crossover store, Malaysia’s premiere sneaker source, for a luscious pack dubbed ,”The Velvet Twin Pack” featuring the iconic Blaze of Glory and Disc Blaze. Aptly named 'Roses' and 'Mystery', the sneaker pack takes cues from the dark and satirical drama of films loved by Crossover founder, Jem.
The Velvet Pack Blaze of Glory ‘Rose’ reinterprets the Trinomic icon with a full tonal grey treatment on mesh upper placed under nubuck and leather material with speckled cage on the overlay. The touch of pink on the tongue, lace and sole represents Crossover's signature colours while the sky blue tint adds a touch of freshness to the insole and around the tongue. An elegant rose stencil print on the heel finishes off the design.
The Velvet Pack Disc Blaze 'Mystery' features a see-through Disc cap on a pitch black upper constructed of mesh, nubuck and suede. The white speckled black cage symbolizes the faint goodness that’s oftentimes found in every suspense dramas’ antagonistic character. A shot of pink on the heel tab symbolises the unpredictable behaviour of devious characters found in these type of films.
The Blaze of Glory ‘Rose’ and Disc Blaze ‘Mystery’ drops exclusively through PUMA SELECT stores in Braamfontein, Johannesburg and Bree Street, Cape Town on 23 April and 15 May for R2 499.
