PUMA Drops Two New Valentine’s Day Themed Sneakers

PUMA spoils you for choice this Valentine’s Day with the new Basket Crush and Basket Crush Emboss sneakers.

The Basket Crush, retailing for R1 399, will be available at PUMA stores from 8 February 2019. Aptly rendered in a bold Hibiscus colourway, the unique asymmetrical lacing system creates a perfect top-down view of the shape of a heart. One of the brand’s most iconic silhouettes, the latest iteration is designed with beautiful fashion-forward detailing inspired by on point street style. Featuring PUMA branding on the heel with a tonal formstripe on the lateral and medial side, these stylish sneakers will be a hit all year-round.

The Basket Crush Emboss, retailing for R1 399 is available at PUMA stores and selected retailers. This iteration of the iconic sneaker is accentuated with a metallic foil deboss line, while the unique asymmetrical lacing system creates a perfect top-down view of the shape of a heart. With metallic PUMA branding on the heel, the sneakers in PUMA White – PUMA Silver feature a tonal formstrip on the lateral and medial side.

Sneakers Dropping Today: PUMA ‘His & Hers’ Suede & Basket – Perfect for Valentine’s Day

PUMA will be dropping a ‘His & Hers’ Valentine’s Day pack, consisting of the PUMA Suede and Basket, for all the couples to pair up on and match their outfits (how cute?).

Since their birth in the late ‘60s, the Suede and Basket have seen many cultural milestones in sneaker history, not to mention been part of many people’s love stories and happy endings. This year’s Valentine’s Day offering presents the two icons in irresistible iterations sure to melt one’s heart.

The Valentine’s Day ‘His’ Suede features an all-over black perforated upper made from premium nubuck leather. A blush pink formstrip and light midsole completes the look. 

The Valentine’s Day ‘Her’ Basket features soft perforated leather in light grey combined with a matching blush pink formstrip to the men’s. A dark midsole creates a cool contrast to the upper. For a sweet touch, both sneakers include a His + Hers badge on the tongue.

Both shoes will be available from select PUMA stores and lifestyle retailers from 12 February. Unfortunately, the sneakers won’t be available in South Africa, finding it will be worth the effort!!!  

PUMA Collaborates With ICNY To Launch The Valentine’s Day ‘Heartbreaker’ FAAS 100 Runner and The ‘Heartbreaker’ FASS 100 Video

Inspired by Valentines Day, PUMA partnered with alternative sportswear pioneers ICNY to infuse on the new Faas 100 “Heartbreaker” running sneaker. Capitalizing on the expertise of ICNY, the runner features an all over reflective texture, designed specifically so the wearer is able to shine, even in the darkest hour!

ICNY was developed after designer Mike Cherman was struck by a car whilst cycling. Inspired by this event, ICNY was created with a goal of providing added safety and increased visibility by using reflective materials on key areas of sport apparel and accessories.

Utilizing PUMA’s performance expertise and ICNY’s reflective technology, the Faas 100 “Heartbreaker” was born. The lightweight and breathable characteristics of the Faas 100 is the perfect weapon for pounding the pavement, sprinting the streets and tackling all terrain.

Its crimson red armor, inspired by Valentine’s Day, summons the inner hero that lives within all our hearts. Built for all runners who continue to push themselves, limits and boundaries through the passion and love for sport.

In celebration and anticipation of the PUMA x ICNY FAAS 100 shoe, ICNY released a video showcasing the shoe in action. The one-minute short film captures the athlete as readies himself and sets out for an early morning run. Driven by passion, the protagonist disappears into the dark, desolate, and wintry Brooklyn streets.
