First Look: PUMA x Polaroid Sneaker Pack

PUMA and consumer electronics powerhouse Polaroid is dropping the RS-0 and RS-100 Polaroid sneakers.

The collaborative pack is a fusion of PUMA’s all new RS-0 sneaker and design hints from the iconic Polaroid OneStep analog instant camera.

The RS-0 Polaroid sneaker is inspired by the game-changing Polaroid OneStep instant camera. The sneaker features a premium white leather upper, micro perf vents, 6mm flat, reflective laces and the iconic Polaroid Colour Spectrum graphic on the sneaker tongue.

The RS-100 Polaroid sneaker reimagines the 80’s RS-100 model with hints of photography elements. Between the two sneaker styles,  the RS-100 Polaroid is the OG silhouette, keeping true to the retro style. The re-issue features classic Polaroid  hues in colour-blocked style in suede and leather overlays, finished with a reflective detailing, a play on the ‘flash’ from a Polaroid camera. The iconic Polaroid Colour Spectrum graphic rainbow colours are used prominently, from the colourful outsole to the sneaker tongue.

Both shoes feature the PUMA and Polaroid branding found on the tongue label and footbed. For a nice touch, the shoes include a miniature version of a Polaroid instant photo in the Polaroid Classic Border Logo with co-branding used as a hangtag.

The sneaker pack will be available in-store on 27th October at PUMA SELECT stores and Shelflife. The RS-100 retails for R2 899 and the RS-0 retails for R2 999.

Introducing the PureBOOST PK ZG & Samba by adidas Consortium x Livestock

adidas Consortium teams up with Canadian retailer Livestock to deliver a killer two-piece footwear package.

The PureBOOST PK ZG and Samba may hail from different eras of adidas’ history but both are bonded by the common theme of dynamic movement. During the conception phase Livestock explored the theme of sporting rhythms; the way elite athletes develop elegant, instinctive physical behaviors.

First up, Livestock reworks the PureBOOST PK ZG, a modern running silhouette. The black Primeknit upper is emboldened by a rich elastic crimson cross strap across the shoe’s body and contrasting screen printed stripes on the outer toe-box. The PureBOOST PK ZG’s sporting capacity is world renowned; it is a market-leading performance model. This version also features low-key Livestock insignia on the tongue and insole.

From cutting contemporary to something a little more classical, Livestock goes throwback with the adidas Samba. Whether it is indoor football or skateboarding, the Samba has lived on the front-line of sporting action for decades. Livestock's execution features black hairy suede and keeps detailing understated: we are talking screen printed stripes on the lateral and tonal leather stripes on the medial side as well as subtle gel-print lettering. Red is reserved for the insole and tongue label eyelets.

Livestock has thrown up a knockout combo celebrating the ever-changing role of performance footwear, highlighting the dynamics, the rhythm of movement in diverse sectors of sports and lifestyle activities.

The PureBOOST PK ZG & Samba will be available from 3 September 2016 at Shelflife store in Cape Town and Johannesburg.

First Look: PUMA x Filling Pieces: Destruct To Rebuild

PUMA has partnered with contemporary footwear brand Filling Pieces for a collaborative silhouette blending athletic and luxury footwear design. Filling Pieces, known for merging streetwear and high-end fashion aesthetics worked closely with PUMA to reinvent the Blaze of Glory.

Filling Pieces deconstructed the PUMA Blaze of Glory and rebuilt it using the finest FP materials and attention to detail, resulting in a luxury fabrication of PUMA Blaze of Glory in a contemporary iteration. The toe-box got stripped down leaving a cleaner, slimmer silhouette made of fine quality leathers, woven across the toe with a singular nubuck overlay and a large elastic strap across the vamp. The sneaker is completed with the over-emphasized iconic tongue that Filling Pieces is known for, perforated paneling and rose gold lace tips. The collaboration style offers a single colourway of matte black with fresh white sole finished with the classic Trinomic cushion technology.

The PUMA x Filling Pieces Blaze of Glory is a fusion of the clean and modern identity of Filling Pieces with the iconic sports aesthetic from PUMA.

The sneaker is available exclusively from Shelflife stores for R3 999.
