The Modern Man: First Impressions

Whether going to the office, or dressing up to go to an event it is vital for the ‘modern man’ to always look his best! The old saying, “You can’t judge a book by its cover” may be true, but you never know what thoughts people may have of you, until they get to know you!

One of the best pieces of advice I've ever gotten was ‘wear great clothes. You never know whom you’ll meet!’ First impressions always count!

This season Fabiani brought us contemporary tailored garments and sportswear apparel in an ‘unconventionally edgy look’, fit for the modern gentleman of today.

Fabiani Brings Us ‘A Return To Form’ This Season and Focuses on Classic Tailoring and Sports Luxe

For Autumn/Winter 2015, iconic menswear brand Fabiani gives classic tailoring a fashion forward pop by championing luxury-street wear (A/W2015’s hottest trend).

The effortless juxtaposition of contemporary tailored garments and sportswear apparel results in an unconventionally edgy look fit for the modern gentleman of today. Pioneered by the stylish and eccentric, the look has been reinterpreted and given a quintessentially Italian feel by drawing inspiration from 21st century vintage motorsport.

The iconic Wool Stretch Suit takes centre stage with additional collection pieces sporting an exciting burst of mixed yarn fabrics offering an array of the season’s hottest hues. A refined capsule collection of luxury sweats adds an edge with a selection of cropped trousers exposing bare ankles and luxe leather trainers.

Chunky merino wool and cotton flecked thread knitwear is contrasted with lavish high shine patent and nylon textured outerwear fit for the urban explorer. Crisp poplins and a variety of coloured gingham checks can be seen in winter shirting with tweed-inspired coats and vintage motorsport jackets befit the dapper Fabiani man.

Luxury casual wear including Italian insignia emblazoned polos, stylish slim fit chinos and sporty headwear complement printed fashion pieces in subtle patterns that boast a shadowy and sophisticated palette of royal blue, navy, granite, jet black and fresh white tones.

A RETURN TO FORM has its foundation in suiting but sees the introduction of urban street wear and represents a more thoughtful and measured way of dressing. The collection also aims to educate the Fabiani man on the intrinsic components of character pieces and how these traditional tailored garments can be given an urban spin.

The Fabiani Collection is exclusively available at Fabiani stores.

Fabiani takes the suit to the street this season

Iconic menswear brand Fabiani gives classic tailoring a fashion forward pop by championing luxury street-wear - A/W2015’s hottest trend!

The fashion team identified a growing international movement towards the combining of contemporary garments with sportswear apparel.  The effortless juxtaposition results in an unconventionally edgy look fit for the modern man of today. Pioneered by the stylish and eccentric, the look has been reinterpreted and given a quintessentially Italian feel by drawing inspiration from 21st century vintage motorsport.

A Return To Form has its foundation in suiting but sees the introduction of urban street wear and represents a more thoughtful and measured way of dressing. The collection also aims to educate the Fabiani man on the intrinsic components of character pieces such as the iconic Wool Stretch Suit and how these traditional tailored garments can be given an urban spin.

At 9pm on Saturday 7th of March 2015 Fabiani will showcase the collection at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Johannesburg at the Melrose Arch Piazza. Polos emblazoned with Italian insignia, slim fit chinos, lux trainers and sporty headwear will be styled alongside bespoke one-off showstoppers. Fabiani x The Fabiani Cafe x MBFWCT 2014 x Spring/Summer 2015

The clatter of cups and saucers, whistling of steam and an intoxicating scent of freshly ground coffee beans fill the air. A high shine marble bar counter holds up perched elbows boasting an array of rolled up sleeves, coloured cuffs and classic timepieces. Voices steadily rise above the buzz of scooters humming past the crowded entrance.  Patrons spill out onto the piazza outside, a vision of slim blazers and tailored shirts in bright neon’s and quintessential white, royal blue and red.

The barista shouts above a wave of gesturing hands, signalling the arrival of two steaming espressos. Sweptback heads and bearded faces look up as a sea of floral prints glide across the room narrowly missing waiters as they skip from table to table delivering drinks. Soft luxurious cottons and crisp clean Poplins populate the space with touches of Cotton Sateen prevalent in suiting. Woven details add surface texture and bold bursts of ocean blue reminiscent of the glistening Mediterranean add a sense of calm to the chaos.

The heat of summer adds to the sparkling ambience and perfectly matches the patrons’ ruggedly elegant attire. Narrow leg trousers allow for a glimpse of olive skinned ankles with overstated cuffed hems that show off burnished monk straps. In an ode to nonchalant style, the last buckle is always left unfastened. Outside the sound of leather soles rings across the lively piazza and handcrafted lace up derbies, tassel loafers, gladiator sandals and drivers move like a wave across the cobbled sidewalks.

A summer breeze, flowing down from the Tuscan hills, flaps upturned collars of vibrant Polo’s and blows wisps of hair across chiselled faces. Pocket hankies and printed ties add a touch of eccentric humour whilst fashion fedoras perch nonchalantly on nodding heads. This is the world of The Fabiani Café  - style since 1978.

The Fabiani Collection is exclusively available at Fabiani stores.
