Introducing Free Fall’In –Zando’s Exclusive Brand Offering To Get You Autumn/Winter Ready

This season Zando.co.za invites you to celebrate your fashion individuality! Autumn Winter 16’s (AW16) sheer fashion variation has a little something for everyone, leaving nothing to be desired.

Taking inspiration from global street style and the compelling runways of Paris, London and New York, the Zando’s AW16 collection explores a fierce yet classic approach to seasonal transition. With a strong emphasis on spiced hues and faux fur with a seasonal velvet touch – textures run dense and layered. According to Amanda Lepar (Senior Buyer, Zando Women’s Apparel) “There is strong international influence for AW16 with a number of trends which one can easily relate to. From graphic black and white, sizzling punk, folksy tribe, military and an eighties comeback, Free Fall’in on Zando.co.za holds the key to style variety and perfect personality match.”

With a strong emphasis on brand offering expansion, AW16 was built to not only highlight a stark colourway, but looked to incorporate a rich mosaic of florals and geometric pattern in order to amplify styling capability.

Zando’s AW16 Collection falls into the following 3 prominent categories for both ladies and gents according to Zeane Singer (Zando’s Fashion Editor):

Trends for the ladies:

Borrowed from the Boys
This look is strongly inspired by international street culture. We like to think of it as hipster meets fashionista with a tomboy finish. Create the look with ripped boyfriend jeans, cleated side buckle boots, a soft white blouse topped with a smokey eye and soft nude lip.

Dark Romance
This luxurious look speaks for itself, a chic silhouette with a sultry twist. Ideal for career chasers with a full social calendar. Think lace detailed dress finished with a black leather jacket, velvet tie up heels and a burgundy wrap blouse. Add a vibrant masala lip for that added pop.

Folksy
Folksy has a fierce 1970’s influence with a slightly softer tone for that ultimate transitional changeover. This girl has a youthful spirit and playful bohemian charm. Pair your curvy fit basic skinny with a suede waterfall jacket and fringe bag. Warning! Don’t leave the house without your neckerchief or round sunnies.

Trends for the gents:

Formal
A suave affair. This gentleman pairs perfectly fitted chinos with a buttonup and pocket square.

Athleisure
The definitive gym look with a futuristic flare, embrace it! The trend has evolved past its original leggings-andtee combo to its current stage: stylish sweatpants, on point sneaks and a high performance fit not meant only for the gym.

Libertine
From Brooklyn to Shoreditch, modern street culture reflects a nomadic representation of the classic blazer, ripped jeans and warm brogues – top it off with a trilby hat for that final grunge push.

First Look: Alpha Industries Autumn/Winter 2016 Collection

In October, 1959, more than 50 years ago, Alpha Industries began its operations making military clothing in the basement of a rented Knoxville, Tennessee factory using leased sewing machines and only a few employees. In recent years, Alpha Industries has taken it’s more than 50 years heritage and has grown into an internationally recognised global brand for military inspired casualwear.

The Alpha Industries Autumn/Winter 16 range is based on two collections which encompass a blend of apparel offered by the South African licensees and the iconic Alpha Industries jackets from their US counterparts. The collection is comprised of 15 styles in the premier jacket offering and 19 in contemporary fashion pieces. The collection includes a ready to wear offering of t-shirts, hoodies, sweats, jeans and headwear.

Pretty much anything Kanye West is wearing is guaranteed to sell out. Accordingly Alpha Industries has credited the fashion icon for a significant increase in sales of their heralded MA1 bomber jacket. Executive officer Mike Cirker revealed to WWD that three years Kanye’s team commissioned the brand to create his Yeezus tour jackets. The catapult was launched and the brand today has been spun into a whirlwind of cult celebrity following, seen on the likes of Gigi Hadid, Rita Ora, Beyonce and locally AKA, Anatii & Riki Rick.

Today, Alpha Industries is also known for its high-quality, military-inspired outerwear. The military silhouettes are core to its heritage, as well as modern innovations in style and function. During Vietnam, the MA1 jacket was issued to Airforce soldiers. Now, anyone can wear this tough infantry classic too - whether for fashion, function or to preserve memories of military service.

The Alpha Industries Autumn Winter collection will be available from premier retailers nationwide from March 2016. For stockist information visit www.alphaindustries.co.za

Introducing Hilfiger Edition: Tommy Hilfiger x New York Fashion Week: Men’s – Fall (Autumn) 2016

Mr. Tommy Hilfiger presented his Fall (Autumn) 2016 Hilfiger Edition collection on February 3, 2016, at Cedar Lake in Manhattan during New York Fashion Week: Men’s.

What is an icon? This season Tommy Hilfiger explores the concept as he presents Hilfiger Edition, a carefully considered and thoughtfully reimagined collection of indispensable menswear classics. We look to our own 30-year history and Tommy’s most signature pieces to deliver the fundamental building blocks of a modern wardrobe. Through his well-honed lens, familiar heritage styles feel necessary, youthful and ready for right now.

There are covetable coats from the Crombie to the puffer and thickly cabled fisherman sweaters. Suiting and pajamas are luxurious in a glen plaid or graphic chalk stripes, and the rugby is a playful patchwork. Trousers are cut slouchy and denim is selvedge. Accessories and footwear are the ultimate essentials. All offer the rich detailing that is signature to our brand DNA.

At its foundation, colors are traditional, fabrications are both time-honored and technical, while silhouettes have a genuine sense of ease that is so in keeping with today’s versatile needs. “We looked at each garment from every angle,” noted Tommy, “giving a sense of newness without ever losing sight of what made them special in the first place.”

Fall 2016 puts a confident spotlight on Tommy’s favorite icons for an edited collection of elevated American clothing with a modern global eye.

About Hilfiger Edition

“Our Hilfiger Edition collection celebrates the best of American menswear classics, revisited with a sporty, luxe twist,” said Tommy Hilfiger. “We’re embracing a new appreciation for authenticity in men’s fashion – it’s about ordinary, everyday essentials redone in an elevated way. We proudly supported the inaugural season of NYFW: Men’s back in July, and we’re excited to be back for Fall 2016 to share our interpretation of original and relevant men’s fashion today.”

Hilfiger Edition is a collection of all-American style essentials curated from the extensive world of Tommy Hilfiger men’s. Hilfiger Edition celebrates the brand’s heritage pieces and iconic style staples in a relevant, luxurious way with new proportions and updated silhouettes. A fresh perspective on dressing in the modern age, these fundamentals are the ultimate building blocks of a contemporary wardrobe. Each piece is revisited with luxe finishes and signature details in stitching, buttons, trims and piping, which give every style a sophisticated, effortless edge that’s uniquely Tommy.
